Anansi the Spider has been
traveling to all the countries in the
Spanish-speaking world. He has left
clues to help you find him. Just one catch--you need
to know where in the world they speak Spanish! Can
you track him down?
Along the way you will have a chance to explore the many countries that make up el mundo hispanohablante - the Spanish Speaking World. In this world you will discover how different and unique each country is. What new things will you discover as you track down Anansi?
You will use Anansi's clues to find out just where he is travelling to. As you track Anansi take some time to learn more about the countries where Spanish is spoken. This will help you decide which countries you would like to explore further. Sharing your surprising and interesting discoveries with a small group and the class. Your class can use the insights you gain to come up with a list of the countries you all think would be the most interesting to travel to.
Here are the steps you will go through to complete this WebQuest. Read through the general directions in steps 1,2,3, and 4 and then come back to #1 to start the Webquest. You should work with a partner.
First you and your partner will use the clues to locate the country Anansi is visiting. Working together, one person will keep this clue page on the computer and follow the links as the other partner records the answers on the tracking sheet. This country has borders with the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. It also has borders with Venezuela, Brasil, Ecuador and Peru.
This country has a border with El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua.
This country does not have any borders with any oceans. It is above Argentina and below Bolivia.
